Recharge at the IMA Cafe!

There are always so many great things are always happening at the IMA! Such as Dream Cars (closing August 23), The National Bank of Indianapolis Summer Nights Film Series (closing Aug 29), and Richard Wentworth’s False Ceiling (opening September 25th).  Oh, and don’t forget about the adult summer camp…. ArtX! Don’t worry, there is plenty of summer left to enjoy some of these great events and donate a book or two to the Richard Wentworth installation.

Did you know the Indianapolis Museum of Art is the 8th largest encyclopedic art museum in the United States? Between the beautiful collections and gorgeous grounds, it is the perfect way to spend a day exploring art history from world-renowned artist right here in our town. After hours of viewing you may want a little bit to eat or want to relax and enjoy a drink. The IMA Café located at the Indianapolis Museum of Art is the perfect spot!

As the Indianapolis Museum of Art’s exclusive caterer, Kahn’s Catering also has the pleasure of working with the museum for more than just daytime and evening events (such as corporate retreats, social affairs, and weddings). We also operate the IMA Café! You may have noticed us there in our signature green chef’s coats. This powerhouse café team not only prepares amazing meals on a daily basis, they are also an important part of our events team helping us the day of events to be sure that every Kahn’s Catering event at the IMA is prepared and polished, ready for our high-standards of service. Check out what this visitor said about this recent trip to the IMA this summer:

After wandering around the museum for hours, you may forget that you’ve missed a meal and need food NOW! At least that’s what happened to us. I was expecting pre-made, cold sandwiches, and those were available, but don’t miss out on their freshly prepared dishes! My brother and I had the open-faced spinach and artichoke sandwich. We both loved it! It wasn’t dripping in cheese grease and actually contained chunks of visible artichoke and lots of spinach (imagine!). Plus, the serving was huge – I couldn’t find the bread below until the middle. My dad got the turkey, brie and cranberry sandwich and was also very impressed. Yes, each sandwich was $10+, but for the convenience, location and taste – worth it! The cafe was busy when we went (Father’s Day), so we waited about 10 minutes for the food to arrive at our table, but I can see why it takes a minute to prepare. This place is not some little cafe for a snack, it’s a full-blown lunch stop!Jessi, Visited June 2015
