Indiana State Museum Wedding: Annie & Dave

Published On: September 17, 2018Categories: Indiana State Museum, Wedding

It may seem a bit crazy to talk about winter weddings, but they are right around the corner! No better time than now to share a beautiful Indiana State Museum wedding to inspire our couples as they plan.  Each year the museum puts up holiday trees strung with white lights and has holiday displays that really create a winter wonderland for evening events like Annie and Dave’s December wedding – it was magical!

What isn’t to love about winter weddings? Winter weddings are cozy. Even in the expanse of the museum’s 100 foot tall windows in the Great Hall, this wedding felt intimate. Café lights strung above the reception space casting a warm white glow were the perfect addition. These cozy events also call for savory menus too! Annie and Dave’s menu had some of our favorites like Caribbean beef meatballs and red wine braised beef short rib.

Hors D’oeuvres
Cherry tomato caprese, mozzarella, basil, balsamic reduction
Beef carpaccio crostini with crispy capers, truffled honey, arugula
Shrimp cocktail shooter, kahn’s signature cocktail sauce
Portabella risotto aroncini, smoked tomato chutney
Caribbean beef meatballs
Crab cakes, creole remoulade sauce

First Course
Artisan lettuce, brie, petite french pear, candied walnuts, pomegranate vinaigrette

Second Course
Duo plate of
Red wine braised beef short rib, sauce bordelaise
Garlic & herb marinated breast of chicken, lemon butter sauce, citrus basil relish

Served with
Caramelized onion yukon gold mashed potatoes & Broccolini, roasted garlic butter

Third Course
Spice cake with amaretto buttercream filling
Vanilla cake, raspberry coulis, vanilla buttercream filling
Chocolate cake, dark chocolate buttercream, dark chocolate ganache

The museum’s holiday décor made their grand entrance was truly captivating. As Annie and Dave descended the steps of the museum’s main staircase, large holiday trees twinkled in the background. Even as guests dined and danced on the main level, café lights strung overhead illuminated the area with a warm yellow glow which paired well with the holiday trees lit about the doors to Ball Family Terrace. Here are a few of our favorite photos from their special day:
