Ringing in NYE at the IMA

Named one of the hottest New Year’s Eve parties of 2015 by Indy Star, the IndianapoliNew Museum of Art rang in 2015 with glamorous style. From champagne to open bars to international cuisine, provided by Kahn’s Catering, guests wined and dined as they were treated to special performances every hour until midnight. All galleries were open, including the special exhibition ‘Georgia O’Keefee and the Southwestern Still Life’, as well as special one-time-only installations by IMA’s new artist(s) –in-residence Know No Stranger.

elicious, bubbly glasses of champagne were given to each guest as they entered Pulliam Great Hall and stepped in the luscious pink light of the celebration ahead of them. Live music was continuous throughout the evening featuring DJ Kyle Long, The Impalas, Gregg Bacon, and the Indianapolis Museum of Art’s own Scott Stulen. Guests danced, laughed and sipped on libations in the Mixology Lounge hosted by JP Morgan Chase and crafted by bartenders from Indy’s hottest restaurants including Union 50, Late Harvest/North End Barbeque and St. Elmo Steak House’s 1933. There was no better way to welcome 2015 than with the laughter of friends and showing off your best dance moves.

Beautiful hor d’oeuvres buffets were set featuring cuisine from around the world including pan Asian, Mediterranean, Latin and Indian inspired dishes. Some of guest favorites for the evening were marinated Thai beef salad with cucumbers and picked grape tomatoes, sesame crusted shrimp with spicy mustard sauce, Serrano ham wrapped dried fig with blue cheese and balsamic, and corn muffin stuffed with avocado and tomato salsa with a tortilla triangle tuile, lamb tikka marsala fingerling potato kabobs with mint kaara chutney. As the clock neared midnight, guests gathered around Pulliam Great Hall to begin the countdown. Smiles were seen on everyone’s faces as midnight arrived and hugs were shared along with cheers of happiness from the masses. Guests continued to dance until 1AM and nibbled on late-night snacks until the music stopped. As a parting gift, Big Car Collaborative produced screen-printed posters during the party featuring the Indianapolis Museum of Art which all were welcomed to take home as a souvenir from the occasion.
