OUR HISTORY

At Kahn’s Catering it’s always been about quality. We’ve earned an unsurpassed reputation for fine catering because, for us, good has never been good enough. Even when we were a small start-up, we staked our claim on doing things the best way. Of course, people noticed.

Soon after we opened as a specialty catering service, we began receiving requests to cater larger events and special occasions. We were happy to grow, of course, but upholding our superior standards was our first priority. That is why we relocated our operations to Montage in 2001. The new state-of-the-art (and completely gorgeous) facility allowed us to expand on our commitment to quality while hosting large events such as wedding receptions, corporate events, and black-tie galas in our own lake-side venue.

Over the next decade our reputation continued to spread. So too did our relationships with Indianapolis’ most desirable event venues. Here’s a look at some of the key moments in our evolution:

1996–Kahn’s Marketplace opens as a gourmet food and wine store and small boutique catering business.
1998–Increased demand triggers an expansion to offer full service catering, thus Kahn’s Catering is born.
2001–Kahn’s Catering relocates its headquarters to Montage.
2005–The Eiteljorg Museum awards Kahn’s Catering a five-year venue contract and operator of Sky City Café.
2006–FORUM Conference & Events Center selects Kahn’s Catering as its exclusive catering provider.
2007–Kahn’s Marketplace (our retail business) rebrands as Vine & Table and completely renovates its retail location at 313 East Carmel Drive.
2009–The Indianapolis Museum of Art awards Kahn’s Catering a three-year preferred caterer contract.
2010–The Eiteljorg Museum opts to award another five-year contract to Kahn’s Catering.
2010 – The Center for the Performing Arts awards Opening Gala and exclusive three-year catering agreement to Kahn’s Catering including operation of the Basile Café and Performance Concessions.
2012 – Kahn’s Catering had the honor of working with Super Bowl XLVI Host Committee for their opening Soiree, in addition to catering for the Indianapolis Colts Owner’s Party, Pepsi FAN JAM, CMT Awards, Verizon, VISA, the Indianapolis Mayor and the NFL Hall of Fame.
2013 – The Indiana State Museum awards Kahn’s Catering a three year exclusive catering agreement including operating the newly re-branded Farmer’s Market Cafe and historic L.S. Ayers Tea Room.
2013 – The Indianapolis Museum of Art awards Kahn’s Catering a two year exclusive catering agreement including operating the newly re-branded IMA Cafe.

Today, we’re known for fine catering and the highest level of customer service. Whether you choose to have your event at Montage, one of our preferred venues, or a different location of your choosing, you can be sure that we are completely committed to making your event perfect.
